“Our Nechayeva, this is our Estonian force!”

Elina Nechayeva was born in Tallinn, Estonia. By the age of four, she was already singing in a children’s choir, and by age fourteen, she started taking singing lessons. Already at such a young age, it was clear that Elina had a unique, beautiful, clear and very high voice which lead her to sing all the soloist parts in different children’s choirs. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in music from 2011-2014 from Tallinn University and her Master’s degree from 2014-2016 at the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy.

In 2015 Nechayeva made her debut at the Estonian National Opera as Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. From 2015-2017 she was performing at the Estonian Drama Theatre as a guest artist, receiving exceptional feedback from critics. In 2018 the coloratura soprano was invited to take part in the Estonian National Opera gala concert with Mozart's “Queen of the night” aria and “The Bell Song” from Delibe's opera Lakme. The singer also appears regularly as a soloist in concerts in Estonia and abroad with the best orchestras and conductors. She works regularly with the world-renowned conductors Paavo, Kristjan and Neeme Järvi. With the latter she appeared in December 2018 as soloist during the New Year’s Celebration Concert at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

“The performance of young soprano Elina was very much appreciated by the conductor Neeme Järvi, who praised her as ‘the rising star’ and ‘the future of Renee Fleming’. […] Her exquisite and sophisticated voice and music interpretation, her generous and cheerful personality made her the audience’s favourite. The live streaming of the Gala concert has reached nearly five million views on the website.”

At the MustonenFest 2019 opening concert she collaborated with the conductor Andres Mustonen and was singing Orff's Carmina Burana. In February of the same year Elina had an opportunity to share the stage with the renowned opera singer Placido Domingo.

Elina's repertoire includes works by Mozart, Rossini, Mendelssohn, Strauss, Faure, Tchaikovsky, among others. She also works with famous Estonian and Russian composers such as Peeter Vähi, who treasure her extraordinary voice and musicality.

Besides classical music, Elina does unique cross-over projects to introduce classical vocals to larger audiences and to entice interest in classical music. She represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon and received eighth place for an operatic cross-over song “La Forza” with lyrics by her and her friend Ksenia Kuchukova in Italian. This song received exceptional emotional responses from the audience, and listeners called Elina “the winner of the hearts”, because with her voice and strong genuine emotion she was able to reach the deepest chords of the human soul.

“The gorgeous Elina Nechayeva gave another faultless performance of her pop hybrid ‘La Forza’. She hits every single note like it is no effort for her at all.”

The singer has enjoyed success in a number of competitions in Estonia. In 2017 Elina reached the final round of the Neue Stimmen International Music Competition in Germany out of 1500 participants. In the same year, Elina hosted the semifinals of Eesti Laul (Estonian Song Contest), and in 2018 took part as a contestant winning the First Prize.
